Potawatomi Hotel & Casino
Bob Kelly provided program management services for the initial 19-story Potawatomi Hotel while with Innovative Project Development. He worked with the design team and management to maximize the budget within site restrictions due to the river, traffic, and zero lot line construction.
In this initial project, there were multiple building site choices. We determined the final building location after an initial analysis. The site location was key in determining the success of the project. There were supplemental resort function that weighed in on the site selection location such as the future hotel addition, expansion of the casino, new valet, connection to existing convention and additional convention space, and a new restaurant and bar. They worked collaboratively with both management and the design team to maximize the budgeted amount within the site restrictions.Potawatomi Hotel & Casino's $80 million expansion, designed with Tom Hoskens while principal-in-charge at Cuningham, adds a new spa, additional meeting space, and 119 rooms and suites to the original hotel tower. It is now the second largest hotel in the city with 500 total rooms. Potawatomi Hotel & Casino is the work product of Cuningham. Photo credit Peter Malinowski.
